26 April 2019 Congress election manifesto promises 24 lakh new government jobs to be filled by March 2020 ( in next 10 months after assuming power in May 2019 In my earlier post of 22 April , I had pointed out that this promise would : # Require an Annual ( recurring ) salary/wage burden of Rs 48 lakh*lakh # Require appointing 1000 persons per HOUR ( till Mar 20 ) Now consider this : # Even if 50 % of 24 lakh vacancies are office-based, that is 12 lakh persons # Each office-based person would need , at least 50 sq ft of office floor space ( table + chairs on either side ) # That translates into 600 Lakh sq ft of new office space # At Rs 20,000 / sq ft, this additional office space would cost , Rs 12 Crore*lakh ! 24 lakh Government Jobs by 31st March 2020

22 april 2019 Just came across following full page advt by Congress : " 24 lakh Government Jobs by 31st March 2020 " ( Of course , if voted to power / conditions apply ) Let us assume that Congress wins an absolute majority and assumes power by end May 2019 , giving it 10 months ( approx 200 working days till 31 March , ) to complete the hiring of 24 lakh That would be 12,000 per day = 1000 per hour ( 12 working hours / day ) There are 2 issues : # Annual Salary / Wage burden of these 24 lakh If average salary is assumed at Rs 2 lakh / year / person , that would work out to Rs 48 lakh*lakh per year ! It is time to prepare for increase in our personal Income Tax ! # Resources / Technology to hire 1000 persons / HOUR !
