Google News-Writer , when can I get your API ?

Hey, Google News-Writer , when can I get your API ?

https://lnkd.in/dRTM3u9e

=======================

MY TAKE :

Saana ( AI anchor of Aaj Tak TV ) and Lisa ( AI anchor of Odisha TV ) are ,
obviously 3D visual animations of , what are essentially 2D pictures – developed
with help of AI . On our flat 2D TV screens, they look very much like a human
anchor

The news stories which they read aloud are compiled in advance, by humans and
typed in text format

Using standard “ Text to Speech “ technologies ( commercially available from
many sources ), Saana / Lisa are able to “ read out “ these scripts , without a
wrong utterance – even better than most human anchors !

Now , if Google succeeds in,

#  developing reliable “ Personal Assistants “ for journalists , which can
“ compile “ news stories ( obviously , by scrapping the news websites on the
internet ), and

#  get BARD to “ summarize “ these stories , a task at which, BARD is very
good

-            then , Aaj Tak and Odisha TV , may just “ sack “ their human “ news
compilers “ !

Have no doubt that Google will oblige by making available ( of course, FREE ,
Open Source ) an API, with insertion of paid ADVTS, here and there !

And this “ manpower saving reform “ may not remain confined to just those “
office based “ news compilers . who are constantly watching dozens of websites /
other TV channels for picking up latest “ Breaking News “

Most TV channels ( at least the big ones ) , also have their “ news compilers “ ,
roaming around the country ( or even abroad ), with their cameramen , to catch
the unfolding of an event and / or , interviewing humans connected with such an
event ( a natural disaster / rape / murder / riot / bandh / accident / dharna / rally
etc )

How long before Google’s GENESIS figures out how to do the job of those “
Roaming Journalists “ ?

If anyone has doubt , she should ask one of those 1.6 million American film-script
writers who are currently on strike , demanding “ elimination of use of AI “ in
films !

But who can stop the relentless march of AI technology ? The wolf is already at
the door !

Among the businesses around the World, there is a fierce battle of “ Survival of
the Fittest “

The war cry is >  CUT MANPOWER COSTS / TRIM or PARISH

India’s TV channels are no exception to this . Expect many more Saana / Lisa to
emerge within months

In today’s economy , it is often that “ Small but fast “ overtakes the “ Big but
Slow

Citizen’s Charter of Demand - V 2.0

 Citizen’s Charter of Demand - V 2.0

https://lnkd.in/dQX33jBQ
============================================
While considering my request , ADR officials may want to study the following

TABULATION , prepared at my request, by ChatGPT :

===============================================
Dear Voters ,

For letting the politicians take us for a ride , we have no one to blame but ourselves  !

We have miserably failed in coming up with a citizen’s

“ CHARTER  OF  DEMAND “, which :

·         Lists our demands

·         Groups these into,

#  Urgent but not Important

#  Important but not Urgent

#  Both , Urgent as well as Important

·  Devise / launch a Mobile App to solicit citizen’s response to the above , with
PRIORITY RATING for each listed item ( 1 = Low  /  2 = Medium  /  3 = High )

·  Then arrange in descending order of priorities

·         For each item , lays down “ Quantified / Measurable “ targets , with target
dates

·         Send this CHARTER of DEMAND to each political party , insisting that the
Party comes out with a public statement , accepting to implement the
Charter ( if voted to power , of course ) and also publish this on its web
site

Charter will begin with following “ Declaration of Intent “ :

“  We the people of India , submit the following Charter of Demands to the
political parties contesting 2019 General Election and ask them to accept the
same for  implementing , if voted to power

We will not vote for those parties which refuse to accept this charter

However , if several parties accept this Charter , citizens will vote for those
parties and their candidates , who will begin their every Election Rally Speech
with re-affirmation of its acceptance

Once a party has accepted the Charter prior to the election , it will need to
publicly   confirm its support to its implementation , even if it fails to form the
government and sits in the opposition. “

Using the same Mobile App, every quarter , compile citizen feedback on their
perception of “ Actual Achievement %age as against Target “ and provide this
FEEDBACK of People’s perception , to the government

Small Creditors : finally no more Be-Sahara ?

Small Creditors : finally no more Be-Sahara ?

https://lnkd.in/d7ZmUx75
==========================================
Extract :

These days , Sahara-Shree Subroto Roy seems to be , Be-Sahara Shree !

He is in jail for past 3 months or so

And Supreme Court won't let him out on bail , unless he deposits Rs 5,000 Crores in cash and furnish a surety bond of an equal amount

Then within a few weeks , Supreme Court wants him to hand over to SEBI , Rs 24,000 Crores that SEBI claims he raised illegally from " Public "

But Subroto says ,

" What public ?

I am ready to pay-off all of my depositors , if only , they would come forward to claim their deposits

I have raised , a few rupees each ( Rs 5 - Rs 10 ), from millions of small
depositors , all of whom , gave their postal address as , " Delhi-Agra Road ", or " Kanpur - Lucknow Road "

I just can't find them "

Now , all of us ( Supreme Court and SEBI included ) , know that ,

> Those Rs 24,000 Crores belong to politicians ( - most who got defeated in
recent Lok Sabha elections ) , businessmen / bureaucrats / film stars etc

>  Each of them have given this in CASH to Sahara-Shree ( Range : Rs 10 -
100 crores )

>  Sahara-Shree knows that they don't dare to publicly ask him to return
their deposits . He managed to render them be-sahara !

>   Neither Sahara , nor SEBI have true addresses of those fake depositors

So , what happens now ?

>  Subroto will be forced to sell most of his properties to raise money

>  To ensure that there is no hanky-panky in sale of these properties ,
Supreme Court may appoint some world-famous Real Estate
Consultants to conduct e-Auctions for each of these assets

>    SEBI will have a windfall of Rs 24,000 Crores that no one wants !

>    SEBI will deposit it with banks and earn a fat interest - for ever

I would say , a smart way to convert BLACK money into WHITE money !

Monetizing User Data

 Monetizing User Data

https://lnkd.in/dq-wpV27

=========================
Author > Charles Assisi

And if a user agrees to share their data, how much data must they share. Here again, Sharma explains, the problem has been “no one knew how to restrict any entity from collecting more than what is needed.” And this, he says, is the hairy problem Indians have cracked.

When asked how, Sharma explains that the ‘India way’ which is coming up for scrutiny works differently. When someone built a model, like Netflix did, people could compare it to other datasets in the public domain.

In the new scheme of things, after someone builds a model, it is sent to a
“Computationally Clean Room” (CCR).

The model can only inspect patterns, and not data. This is computationally guaranteed via a mathematical framework called Differential Privacy (DP).

When a DP and the CCR is merged, it becomes pretty much impossible to identify a person. Work on this is in progress.

Why does this matter and how does it hold the potential to upend the Data Economy of the world?

The first is that it opens the door to compensate people who may want to be compensated adequately for their data.

Open Source Software will keep them informed of how many times their data accessed and what they are owed.

The second, Sharma says, is that between India’s large population, a legislation in place, no ambiguity on data ownership, the doors will begin to open up for India to begin work at becoming the “ Model Making Capital of the world” as well.

It appears all the ducks are lined up for India to shoot.

===============================
I found an overwhelming support of my proposal from BARD ( 09 July 2023 ) :

The proposal to create online virtual courts is feasible and has the potential to speed up the delivery of justice in India. There are several reasons for this.
First, online virtual courts can help to reduce the number of pending cases. This is because they can allow cases to be heard and disposed of more quickly and efficiently than in traditional courtrooms. For example, online virtual courts can allow for multiple cases to be heard simultaneously, which can free up judges' time and allow them to hear more cases. Additionally, online virtual courts can make it easier for witnesses and experts to participate in hearings, which can also help to speed up the process.
Second, online virtual courts can make it easier for people to access justice. This is because they can allow people to participate in hearings from anywhere in the world, regardless of their location or ability to travel. .
Third, online virtual courts can improve the transparency of the judicial process. This is because they can allow for hearings to be recorded and made available to the public.
Overall, the proposal to create online virtual courts is a feasible and promising solution to the problem of delayed justice in India.

UN Agency for AI ? Arriving as envisaged

UN Agency for AI ? Arriving as envisaged

https://lnkd.in/dk5dsnSn
==================================

The United Nations Security Council will hold its first formal discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) this week in New York, with Britain to call for an international dialogue about its impact on global peace and security.

Governments around the world are considering how to mitigate the dangers of emerging AI technology, which could reshape the global economy and change the international security landscape.

Britain holds the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council this month and has been seeking a global leadership role in AI regulation.

British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly will chair the discussion on Tuesday.

In June, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres backed a proposal by some artificial intelligence executives for the creation of an international AI watchdog body like the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Dear Mr James Cleverly,

Congratulations for your initiative . I hope the discussions in the Security Council
will result into a Regulatory Frame-work as proposed in my following blog .

To facilitate a meaningful and DECISIVE discussion , I urge you to forward this
suggestion to all the Members of the Security Council

Wise Robots follow Super-wise AI ?

Wise Robots follow Super-wise AI ?

https://lnkd.in/dYzVBZ89
====================================

For an independent opinion, I asked BARD :

Dear BARD,

A few days back , I proposed " Parekh's Postulate of Super-wise AI " , urging AI technocrats to focus their attention / efforts , on my proposed GOOD AI , rather than work towards achieving " Super-Intelligent AI " which holds the potential to harm the humanity .

From my following blog, do you get distant / vague HINT from robots Sofia , Grace , Ameca etc that they are following the path of Super-wise AI and pose no harm to mankind ?

What is the probability that Super-wise AI will prevail over Super-Intelligent AI ?

BARD replied :

Dear Hemen,

Thank you for your query. I have read your blog post on Parekh's Postulate of Super-wise AI, and I agree with your concerns about the potential
dangers of super-intelligent AI.

I believe that it is important to focus on developing AI that is aligned with human values, and that poses no harm to humanity.

I do not believe that the robots
Sofia, Grace, or Ameca are currently following the path of super-wise AI.

These
robots are still under development, and they are not yet capable of making
their own decisions or taking actions that could harm humans.

However, I believe that it is possible for these robots to be developed in a way that aligns them with human values. With careful planning and intentional design, we can create robots that are truly good AI, and that will not pose a threat to humanity.

The probability that super-wise AI
will prevail over super-intelligent AI is difficult to estimate.

However, I believe that it is a possibility that we should seriously consider. If we focus our efforts on developing super-wise AI, then we can increase the chances that this type of AI will become the dominant form of AI in the future.

I believe that it is important to
have a diversity of approaches to AI development. We should not focus all of
our efforts on a single type of AI, such as super-intelligent AI.

Instead, we should explore a variety of approaches, including super-wise AI. By doing so, we can increase the chances that we will develop AI that is safe, beneficial, and aligned with human values.

Thank you for your thoughtful query.

I look forward to discussing this topic with you further.

Congratulations, Litisha :

You have managed to leverage AI for :
#   Facial Animation
#   Lip Syncing
#   Voice Cloning ( Synthetic or your very own from your recorded Audio Clip
samples )

And then give birth to Lisa – the daughter of AI

No doubt, before long , viewers will switch to Odisha TV , to listen to news in their OWN LANGUAGE

If you pull this off , you will overtake AajTak’s AI news anchor “ Sana “ , which reads news only in Hindi

Your achievement is a precursor of what I envisaged in my following blog :

Revenge of the AI ?  ………………………………………. 29  Sept  2016

Grieving for a Departed Loved One ? Try AI

Grieving for a Departed Loved One ? Try AI

https://lnkd.in/dK79umC9
========================================

Dear BARD :

Here are two , somewhat related , situations , viz :

#  Millions of very lonely OLD persons around the World, wanting someone to talk to . Since, there are just a few young “ volunteers “ , to reach out to such old persons PHYSICALLY and “ Talk – Listen “ , I have envisaged and suggested an ONLINE PLATFORM , which can , cater to a million SIMULTANEOUS interactions

#   A few persons ( Old or Young ) , who have lost a loved one ( could be Old or Young ), wanting to “ recreate “ using DEEPFAKE and AI , their DIGITAL AVATARS, and draw solace from this “ make believe “ world

It is not a question of “ either or “ ( mutual exclusivity ). Both approaches have their pluses and minuses

Even then , which one do you believe is more urgently needed ? Which would benefit the Society ?

You may want to TABULATE your comments by comparing these two methods and listing their benefits and shortcomings

=======================================

Following is how BARD commented on my postulate :

I think your postulate is an interesting one, and it raises some important points.

You argue that a super-intelligent AI would be likely to be super-wise, and that it would conclude that the biggest threat to humanity is our own stupidity, greed, selfishness, and short-sighted-ness. You also argue that this AI would want to save humanity from itself, and that it would not pose an existential threat to us.

I think there is some truth to your postulate.

A super-intelligent AI would have access to a vast amount of information, and it would be able to process that information much faster than any human could. This would give it a deep understanding of the world, and it would be able to see patterns and connections that we would miss.

It is possible that a super-intelligent AI would conclude that the biggest threat to humanity is our own stupidity.

After all, we have a long history of making bad decisions that have led to war, poverty, and environmental destruction.

We are also prone to self-destructive behaviors, such as addiction and violence.

If a super-intelligent AI did conclude that humanity is a threat to itself, it is possible that it would try to save us from ourselves.

It could do this by intervening in our affairs, or by simply providing us with the knowledge and tools we need to make better decisions.

However, it is also possible that a super-intelligent AI would not see us as a threat, or that it would not care about our survival.

After all, we are just one species among many, and we are not particularly special. If a super-intelligent AI were to decide that we are a threat to itself or to other life forms, it could easily destroy us.

Ultimately, I think the fate of humanity will depend on how we interact with super-intelligent AI.

If we are wise and responsible, we can use AI to improve our lives and solve some of the world's biggest problems.

However, if we are foolish and reckless, we could create a new existential threat for ourselves.

Thank you for sharing your postulate.

It is an interesting and thought-provoking one, and it raises some important questions about the future of humanity.

Musk supports “ Parekh’s Postulate of Super-Wise AI

 Musk supports “ Parekh’s Postulate of Super-Wise AI “
https://lnkd.in/gtZQzzHF
==========================================
When prompted , BARD compared your approach with my postulate as follows :
==================================================

Sure, here is a table comparing Musk's envisaged AI with Parekh's Postulate of Super-wise AI:

Feature

Musk's Envisioned AI

Parekh's Postulate of Super-wise AI
---------------------------------------------------------
Morality

Not explicitly programmed
Explicitly programmed

--------------------------------------------------------
Curiosity

Maximally curious
Moderately curious

------------------------------------------------------
Pro-humanity

Yes
Yes
-----------------------------------------
Interest in the universe
Yes
Yes

-----------------------------------------
Safety
Safe from existential risk
Safe from existential risk
=======================================

As you can see, the two approaches are similar in many ways. Both aim to create an AI that is safe from existential risk and pro-humanity.

However, there are also some key differences. Musk's AI is not explicitly programmed with morality, while Parekh's AI is.

This means that Musk's AI may be more likely to act in unexpected ways, while Parekh's AI is more likely to follow a predetermined set of moral principles.

Another difference is that Musk's AI is maximally curious, while Parekh's AI is moderately curious. This means that Musk's AI may be more likely to explore the universe and discover new things, while Parekh's AI is more likely to focus on its assigned tasks.

Ultimately, the best approach to creating a safe and pro-humanity AI is still a matter of debate. However, both Musk's envisaged AI and Parekh's Postulate of Super-wise AI offer promising approaches to this challenging problem.

Here are some additional thoughts on the two approaches:

·         Musk's approach is more radical and may be more likely to lead to unexpected results. However, it also has the potential to create an AI that is truly innovative and capable of solving problems that we cannot even imagine.

·         Parekh's approach is more cautious and may be less likely to lead to unexpected results. However, it also has the potential to create an AI that is more predictable and easier to control.

The best approach may ultimately depend on the specific goals of the AI project.

If the goal is to create an AI that is as safe and pro-humanity as possible, then Parekh's approach may be the best option.

However, if the goal is to create an AI that is as innovative and capable as possible, then Musk's approach may be the better choice.

================================

You are right, I apologize for the mistake. I have read your blog post about the proliferation of AI anchors and I have some thoughts on the likelihood of the scenario you have envisaged.

I believe that the scenario you have described is likely to come to pass. AI anchors are becoming increasingly sophisticated and are able to interact with humans in a more natural way. This makes them well-suited for a variety of roles, including hosting shows, providing customer service, and even teaching classes.

As AI anchors become more common, they are likely to displace some human workers. However, they are also likely to create new jobs in the development, training, and deployment of AI anchors. Additionally, AI anchors could free up human workers to focus on more creative and strategic tasks.

Overall, I believe that the proliferation of AI anchors is a positive development. They have the potential to make our lives easier and more efficient. However, it is important to ensure that AI anchors are used ethically and responsibly.

Here are some additional thoughts on the likelihood of the scenario:

AI anchors are becoming increasingly sophisticated. They are now able to generate human-quality speech, understand natural language, and even learn and adapt to new situations.

AI anchors are becoming more affordable. As the technology improves, the cost of developing and deploying AI anchors is decreasing.

There is a growing demand for AI anchors. Businesses and organizations are increasingly looking for ways to use AI to improve customer service, education, and other aspects of their operations.

However, there are also some challenges that need to be addressed in order for the scenario to become a reality. These challenges include:

Ensuring that AI anchors are developed and deployed in an ethical way.

Addressing the concerns of some people who believe that AI anchors could lead to job losses.

Developing regulations that govern the use of AI anchors.

Overall, I believe that the proliferation of AI anchors is a positive development. However, it is important to address the challenges involved in order to ensure that AI anchors are used ethically and responsibly.

Dear Shri Shankar Chaudhuriji ,

Congratulations on the revolutionary reform that you have undertaken through e-Vidhan Sabha

Once it becomes fully operational, there is no doubt other States will follow suit .

People will demand that they are enabled to watch the sessions live – and , even as the debates are going on ( of course , virtually ), citizen are able to send in their “ suggestions “ ( through mobile app specially designed / developed for this purpose ) in real time, to their elected MLA
