May be for the purpose of peak load balancing , thermal plants will be needed for next 10/15 years- which load can be taken up by existing thermal plants , provided new capacity addition of RENEWABLE ( largely, Solar ) plants , stays far ahead of increase in demand But when State Govt owned DISCOMS start cancelling legally binding Power Purchase Agreements entered into with Solar Projects, one cannot escape feeling of CARBON CONSPIRACY !
